Three questions to see whether UAE Corporate Tax registration applies to you — including the AED 1 million rule that catches freelancers and sole establishments.
Corporate Tax registration applies broadly — and importantly, it applies in most cases even when the tax payable is zero. The administrative penalty for late registration is AED 10,000, which is why "we are too small to be taxed" has proved an expensive assumption for many businesses.
Registering does not mean you owe tax. The first AED 375,000 of taxable income is taxed at 0%, qualifying free-zone income can be 0%, and Small Business Relief may remove taxable income entirely for eligible businesses while it lasts. Registration is the administrative duty; liability is a separate question.
